Debt Relief Solutions & Financial Recovery Services

Debt relief is hard to navigate. Our financial coaches will help you understand your debt relief options so you can consolidate credit card debt, start a debt management program, settle your debt, or start building your credit.

Debt Consolidation Options

Debt Settlement Services

A debt settlement allows you or someone on your behalf to negotiate a lower debt amount with your creditors, meaning, you’ll ultimately pay back less than what you owe. If this is the right option for you, your coach will provide you with recommendations for the next steps to ensure you get the best debt relief option available.

What you should know:

  • In order to better negotiate your debt, it’s often recommended that you stop making payments and allow your accounts to go into default.
  • The debt settlement process will cause a decrease in your credit score, but not as much as some other alternatives like bankruptcy.
  • In order to negotiate a settlement, you’ll need to start saving up a lump sum of money to offer your creditors.

Debt Management Services

A Debt Management Plan (DMP) is often referred to as a nonprofit debt consolidation option. Your coach will let you know if a Debt Management Plan is the right debt solution for you. If it is, they’ll help get you enrolled in an in-house nonprofit Debt Management Program. Debt Management works by allowing your coach to work directly with your creditors to lower your interest rates and monthly payment to ultimately consolidate your unsecured debt into one monthly payment, paid directly to the agency, not your creditors.

What you should know:

  • Most Debt Management Plans require that you close your credit cards.
  • A DMP doesn’t directly impact your credit score, but can indirectly drop your score due to an increase in credit utilization (closing your accounts).
  • The average DMP will allow you to pay off your debt in about 3-5 years.
